This hawk already took a swipe at the black squirrel before I was able to grab the camera. The squirrel escaped unharmed and took position in a tree. The hawk moved to a spot a little over from the prey to see if you could set up another attack. The standoff was set! The squirrel won this one. About ten minutes after these shots were taken - The hawk gave up and flew off! One for the little guy!!!
